This is an odd project. As a software developer, I spend a lot of time at my keyboard and developed repetitive stress injury many years ago. I haven't been able to use a laptop keyboard safely for two decades. So my personal computer is not a laptop. I built this custom keyboard and monitor tray for working from my couch, and hook it up to a Mac Studio. The computer gets its own case, which includes a lightweight UPS to make it portable. It's not as convenient as a laptop, but it's a lot healthier on the hands and wrists!

The keyboard tray is made from maple and maple plywood with decorative cutouts and a torsion box design to lighten it. It is finished with a walnut stain and hard wax oil. The computer and UPS case is made from spalted birch, finished with hard wax oil and hand buffed to a glowing sheen.
