Dining table designed to my wife's specifications, starting with a web search for 'viking long table plans'. The bench built-in is my custom design with storage under the flip-up seats, which are a little higher than average due to our mutual height advantage. Shelving in the end provides room for barbecue tools, sandals, and other things stepping onto our patio may require. The bench is made from maple and maple plywood.

The table itself is a knock-down trestle style with a wedged mortise and tenon at each end. It is made from solid maple for the most part, with the centre of the top being cabinet grade plywood. Table and bench are finished with a walnut coloured stain to match our cabinets and Wipe-On Poly. If I were to do it over I would use a hard wax oil instead.
